The new season begins. Our annual dinner was a great success with a great number of raffle prizes from the members and club sponsors, which we are all thankful for even if your M.C. for the evening was lost for words at times.

Our casting team shows again what a great asset they are to the club, even if of trophies were not had individual results and milestones were achieved. The members would like congratulate them again. To the individual winners on the evening Phil Matthews Club Casting Champion, John Smith - Club Champion Angler, John Smith - Advanced Fly tying Champion, Darry Percy - Beginner Fly tying Champion.

Anne Hearn was the recipient of the Evelyn Ramadage award this year. The award is awarded by the committee who in the opinion of thec ommittee has been best club person for the past 12 months. After a secret ballot which was a close run event, Anne came out ahead. Anne's ongoing involvement this past year as our Social Secretary has been tremendous, always willing to give a helping hand with club activities. She is currently leading the effort in preparing an account of the club history with other members from the club, so our congratulations go to Anne.

Ian Rowe was the winner of the President’s award. I awarded Ian this award for the time and effort with which he contributes to club days always leading a hand when asked . My congratulations to Ian.

Please note there are a number of events and guest speakers appearing at the club in the new year so keep a watch on the web site and monthly news letter for dates. One event which is important to the club is the “Kids Come and Try Fishing Day.” Not only is it a great day for children but it exposes the the club to the wider community, so a call is going out for volunteers for the day.
