Marysville has a number of highly productive medium to small productive waters within a short distance. Flows at the moment are reasonable and the fishing is fair to good. There are some very nice fish being caught and released around the area. If you have not fished the area or would like to find some new secret spots, then this is the trip for you.
The Trip to Marysville will take about 1 1/2 hours if you go via Alexandra or Healesville. Just remember to have a quick look over the bridges to see how the Steavo or the Acheron is flowing. If you don't have transport and would like to attend the trip, let the trip coordinator know so we can find you a lift.
We'll be staying at the TBC Caravan Park.
Marysville has all the usual amenities and the bakery does a pretty good coffee and salad roll if you want to limit your bush cooking.
There is a plethora of waters to be investigated, the Steavenson (both above and below the Maroonday hwy), the Acheron (a Vic iconic water), the Taggerty and a few others that are kept quiet.
Your usual arsenal of summer dry flies such as termites, Red tags, beetle patterns, stimulators and duns will keep with plenty of choices. Recent trips have seen a lot of hoppers so make sure you have some hopper patterns loaded. If not just steal some from the Vice-President's fly box, he always packs extra.
